Museum Cairo

The Cairo Museum collection of beadwork is exceptionally rich. It contains beadwork from virtually all periods of Egyptian history. Also, the variety of objects is unparalleled. The entire development of Egyptian beadwork technology may be studied in this museum. Here the two main periods of beadwork production can be discerned, the Middle Kingdom (C22-C17 BC) and the Eighteenth dynasty (around C14 BC) of the New Kingdom. For the forthcoming publication of the development of beadwork technology of Egypt, the Cairo collection was extremely important.
